随兄长踏入乐坛
从小就是个音乐神童的蒂朵（Dido）在她5岁那年偷了生平第一台录音机，不过这个举动并没有令她遭受牢狱之灾，反而使她在一年后进入了伦敦盖德霍尔（Guildhall）音乐学校就读。蒂朵6岁进入音乐学校就读接受正统音乐训练，其优异的表现让她在18岁时就已经拿到了钢琴、小提琴的硕士学位并参与英国古典乐团的巡回表演，直到1995年参与其兄Rollo所组织的无信念乐队（FAITHLESS）才算真正的踏入流行乐界。
处女专辑获全英最佳
蒂朵在参与《SUNDAY 8PM》时也开始其首张个人专辑《NoAngel》的录制。她的第一张专辑能在上公告牌Billboard榜停留长达48周的时候仍在前十，实在是惊人之举。但蒂朵的成名还得归功于阿姆，是阿姆在听到她的《谢谢你》单曲之后，将它变为了自己单曲的副歌，并由此将蒂朵推入了主流音乐圈。在阿姆的推波助澜下，2002年，蒂朵获得全英音乐奖最佳女歌手、最佳专辑两项大奖。
2003年推出最新专辑《Life for Rent》。首先让人惊喜的是唱片封面：昔日那个有点儿张狂，又有点儿青涩的年轻女孩如脱胎换骨般一副成熟女人的装扮，风姿绰约。让人更加惊喜不已的是她的音乐，在上一张唱片《No Angel》成功之后蒂朵历经了四年的磨炼，这一次的Dido不仅保留了原有的popfolk特色，而且越发的电气化，再伴上她贯有的亲切圆润的嗓音，不愠不火。
和上一张专辑一样，本张唱片仍然由蒂朵的兄长Rollo为其度身打造，因此，唱片里或多或少有一些“无信念”的影子（本来Dido的成长过程就和Faithless脱不了干系）。整张唱片的内容似乎和生活与旅行有关。
Life for rent，把整个生命都出租出去，不属于任何人，无根地飘荡，听起来有一些伤感。“这些歌曲表达了我对现在生活的感受以及将来如何生活，”对于自己的新专辑，Dido这样说，“它讲述了要勇于接受机会的挑战并学着去充实的生活。人们很容易自我满足或者轻易地从这个世界离开，这张专辑将永远提醒我不要那样做。”
